like...whoa

so, um...whoa, a lot has happened in the life of stephie over the past week or so. good stuff. GREAT stuff.

so boy came into town tuesday; of course all his flights were delayed (well the red eye from seattle was delayed for 2 hours so he missed his connection in houston and was changed to a later flight, which was delayed), so instead of arriving at 9:46a, he came in at 12:20p, which actually worked better for me workwise becuase i picked him up from the airport, took him to lunch, went to work for about an hour, and then decided to leave. we dropped by his house to check up on the roomies and doggies and then headed home for a quick nappie before his parents arrived. they drove all the way from dallas (12 hours!) and we met them for dinner with my family. yes, they have met my dad before but never my mom. great times. worked like a charm. they got along sooooo well. it was quite amazing. then we all went back to my house for some key lime cake (YUMMY!) and his mommy gives me a present...from LILLY PULITZER! anything from there is pretty much perfect for me, and this gift was so cute...a pink and green beach towel! whoopeeeeee! love love love it! oh yeah, and they decided to stay another day/night before heading to his sister's house in clearwater. so what do they all decide to do WITHOUT ME, while i slave away at my desk all day? go out on the boat. yeah, neato. they call me for lunch, but wait, boy has my car! yes, while he was here he drove me to work every day and picked me up (cute, i know), so he could use my car during the day and this day was no different. except he had NO USE for the car since he was out on the boat and i was stranded at work with no means to see them for lunch (dad on call, etc etc), until i had the BRILLIANT plan to borrow barnold's car! (barrie, a coworker...) so i met them at a marina and we ate yummy food, and i went back to work while they toodled about on the boat. that afternoon, we got an AMAZING couple's massage, and then headed home for dinner at my house with both the rental units, complete with chicken parmesan with tossed lemon greens atop and second helpings of key lime cake. so tasty.

thursday was the day of my press conference and my baby was so sweet to hang around and help me set up for the main event (somehow we matched too...i was wearing a pink shell and he was looking especially tasty in his baby pink polo i picked out for him--holy crap! so hot)...and he is such a helpy mchelperson (my mom adores him for many reasons-this being one of them--apparently she walked in on him drying the dishes and putting them away and also heard about him fixing the toilet paper roll--something my dad isn't even capable of). then my family met for lunch and he and my dad went to play some golfers then met us out for dinner at bonefish and ice cream at marble slab. another purrfect day.

so this is when the story gets good. and this is the part when i talk about HOW NO ONE IN MY FAMILY CAN KEEP A SECRET. i have always retold the story about how my dad basically proposed to my sister for my brother-in-law and laughed because that would never happen to me (Jeremy called to ask him if he could marry her and then my dad promptly called my sister to tell her the news--i am not sure Jeremy ever formally proposed, but we always joke that my dad proposed for him)...but it sure did. so friday, my dad called on the way to work and then met me in the lobby to inform me that 'bill asked for your hand in marriage. i told him he could have your hand, but we are keeping the rest of you.' thanks dad. i really wanted to know that. so then babes picks me up early and we go to his friends' winging and then we get mani/pedis (yes, he likes to groom and no you can't have him) then head home. we meet my sister's new puppy (so now she has 2 mini chihuahuas, neither of which look like a chihuahua thank GOD!) and we go outside to play with them. nikki promptly announces 'so i heard dad let the cat out of the bag,' really loudly at which point i SHHHHHHH her emphatically, but she then informs me that bill knows i know. WTF? WTF? he nods and tells me my dad told him he told me. CRAP! i didn't want to know, but i sure didn't want him to know that i knew. i was really upset because i felt like it was all ruined, but boy assured me that i still had NO IDEA when or how he would do it or what he was getting me, etc. so i felt better. we went to cactus flower for dinner, then headed to the beach for the winging party (always trouble--free beer), and take quite a few lemon drops then sweat to death while dancing the night away. i LOVE LOVE LOVE that he dances. such a relief. so much fun. we go home, i pass out, and i awake Saturday morning to boy walking into my room with a glass of tasty delicious cold refreshing water. it was...a...DELIGHT!

so we check on the gerry-rigged disco balls made 6 days before on sunday and turns out a few had deflated. or more than a few. so we remake some, load them up, and bring the supplies, just in case. upon arrival at the event's location, we unload the balls and i put both my mom and him to work. my mom starts with the table decs and we reassemble a lot of the 'special' balls. an hour and a half later, we are outtie like trouttie and home for a nap. then boy and my daddy maladdy go to hit some golf balls or putt or do something that boys like to do regarding golf while i get pretty. and i do look good, let me tell you. after a quick shower by boy, we are off to an evening of comedy. we arrive at the beach, bid on some items (none of which we win), eat some tasty hors d'ouvres (like cheese wontons, bruschetta, and chicken satays), drink some wine, and settle in for a nice dinner and a comedy routine by a very funny asian with a southern accent (Henry Cho-check him out). then we head home and go sleepy night night!

sunday was filled with church, breakfast at the village, a movie (Pirates of the Caribbean), and dinner at the sissies (she made apps, we ate salad, strip steaks, green bean casserole, chocolate rice, BANANA PUDDING, and yummy ice cream cake). we also sat on the patio with 6 dogs scampering about and her neighbors housing beers and smoking cigarettes. they are good people though. ah the milton lifestyle. we head home with a quick trip by his house to fetch some bills and then watch moulin rouge (he loved it, i just know it) while boy made his 'to do' list of calls to make upon re-arrival in the emerald city/area.

wake up monday, eat some nummies, and head to the airport, where THANK GOD i was listening (kind of) and heard the last call for his flight to board. he skedaddled through security and began his trek across the country.

since then, i contracted a deathly cold and had to go home early from work 2 days, moved into my NEW office (which i LOVE, but it's a little quiet so i spend a lot of time in the front still), and i have missed him oodlies. but the stories of the past week and my inability to focus on much due to above mentioned illness and associated medicines have gotten me through the 1st week separation blues. today i went to an idearaiser for the state's uninsured and am now watching a mooooovie with the fam (still sniffling, but feel a lot better today and made it through an entire day of work).

can't wait to talk to the BFFs throughout the remainder of the week. MK is about to live through hell with her sister's rush next week, Christy is swamped with work after an amazing tour d'italia, and Featherlicious is wrapping up her internship, sure to be offered a job at the firm (i am sure she is nervous to say that, but i KNOW it!).

am excited to head back to the NW in a few weeks after about 80 million weddings, a trip to tampa for choreography, and way too many days in between visits for some yummy home brewed beer (made by boy!), a killer house warming party, and good times with the babes. nothing else is as filling as being in his arms and just 'with' him. he is truly a silly billy and my 'LUUUHVAR' for life.

woot woot!

What can I say, you did it. You took it to the max. You found the apex. You traversed to the summit. Created the pinnacle. Won one for the gipper. Whistled a tune. Fancied a drifter. Plugged up the toilet. Laughed at a high talker.

You're amazing. AND your loved!

Kisses
