My life is kind of boring right now, not gonna lie. I just had an AMAZING high with boy being in town for Thanksgiving and our engagement party and pictures and having so much fun with friends and family, and now everything just kind of pales in comparison.
Before I go into a recap of the weekend, I do want to share all the fun and fantasticalness that the some of the most special people in my life are experiencing:
1. feather got a job offer!!! West coast firm’s DC office, endless supply of yoohoo. She loves them, they love her. But she won’t make a decision til all the others pan out also. But she CAN work!!!
2. mk has a new love interest who actually treats her well! That is something to talk about and be happy about. He adores he, as any boy should!
3. the Christy hosted her family for Thanksgiving. That is a feat I am definitely incapable of at this point in my life, and she is the first to venture and do such a ‘grown-up’ thing.
4. boy flew back home to tons of snow (and, of course, craziness with the streets and stuff) and had 2 days off to recover and go snowboarding! Lucky ducky mcschmucky!
Okay. Time for the recap. So boy left on the red-eye on Wednesday night (technically Thursday morning I guess) to arrive in the ‘cola at 9a on Thursday. Of course, the trip can’t ever go smoothly for either of us, so his 1st flight left late causing him to miss his tight connection and 2nd flight. So he gets on the next one and arrives at about 12n. we have a wonderful afternoon with the family and eat the yummy feast around 4p. whooo hooo! Friends come over for dessert, we watch Elf to officially commence the Christmas season, and hit the hay early.
Friday we wake up and run some errands (panera and mall) before our engagement pictures at 3:30p. have fun frolicking about downtown and on the beach, take some awesome (and not so awesome) pictures that can be viewed here (under ‘Steph and Bill 11-24). I especially like the ones where it looks like we are expecting a baby by the angle and way he is caressing my stomach (somewhere around page 3 I think—and on the beach too). but there are some definite keepers in there too! after the partay we grab a quick starbies and head to Seville for a friend’s engagement party. Stand around and talk until about 9:30p then decide to forgo the Molly Ringwald’s concert and see Casino Royale at 10:40p. second time for me, first time for him—but equally as entertaining for both of us. long movie, get home and go to bed around 2:30a.
Saturday-the day of the PARTAY!!! Wake up, work out, shower, run to Jeweler’s Trade to look at wedding bands, pick up delicious Mediterranean eats, and head home to prepare for the main event. Get ready, take pictures, people come!!! At one point there were like 70 people at my house. Loved it. very casual and friends got to meet boy’s fam and have yummy food and nice company. Brooxie and MK (and Meg-o the sissy poo) drove in from out of town and so we went out after the company cleared around 9:30ish. Headed to the Sev-ille and sat and had a few drinks then decided to boom boom room it out. Danced for a while, Brooxie and MK left (both had to drive home later) and we went to Awful Waffle for some late night treats. Brooks realized I left my jacket in his car around the state line and drove it back to me, then went a little out of his way to drive the boy and me home! yippee! I have missed hanging out with him so much!!! Crashed, then awoke around 11a the next morning.
Hit up the Chinese buffet then drove to nicker bicker’s house to see the puppies and hang. Drove home, helped boy pack, tried to spend every last minute absorbing each other’s presence, and took him to the aeroporto.
All of his flights went just swimmingly on the journey home and he arrived almost 45 minutes early to SeaTac. Retrieved car and headed back to snowy Anacortes, but heard high pitched whirring noises and finally stopped. Had blown a tire, so had to spend about 30 minutes changing it before continuing home. also had to fight unsnowplowed roads and watch car slide down driveway before reparking and settling in to a freezing house with no power. But, BUT base was closed Monday so he got to sleep in and recover and get power back and then yesterday got to snowboard.
I spent Monday recovering and having cheerleading practice. Yesterday I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off and had to go to a pep rally and then have the first basketball game with my JV cheer babies. Neato. They did a really good job!
Slow day at work today. Need to finish some stuff up and gather data. Working out this afternoon, cleaning out car tonight. Should be a great time.
Excited to leave for VA Beach Friday night, then be in Orlando Monday-Thursday. Should be a rip-roaring and delightfully magical time. Wish I could be there the entire time. BOOOO!!! Oh well, a little is good!
